Fireworks Bromsgrove beaten Six Nations Tickets Membership Vice Presidents’ Lunch

Fireworks – our annual fireworks extravaganza will be held next week - on Tuesday 5 November. Gates open at 5.00 and the fireworks will be displayed at 7.30. Please come and support the event which is crucial to our fund-raising efforts. We are still looking for marshals to control the traffic coming in and out and if you are able to volunteer please let me know asap - you get in free!

Bromsgrove 2nds turned up with a strong side on Saturday, but they were run off their feet in the first 10 minutes as our re-arranged team started off at top speed with 2 tries. The visitors looked as though they were heading for a big defeat at this point but they pulled themselves together and dominated the next half hour, scoring three tries and building a 9-point lead. It was Leam who were now looking at defeat, but we turned things around with two tries immediately before and after half time to regain the lead and gradually pull away. 38-28 was a fair score in the end but the margin might have been greater if our backs (no doubt auditioning for American Football contracts ) had remembered it was necessary to touch the ball down after crossing the goal line. Please see John Warner’s full report on the website

The Seconds and Colts were both cancelled due to lack of players – Stratford cried off the Seconds’ game and our Colts cried off against Barkers Butts. This week is a free week in the fixture list so there are no games planned, although there is some prospect of a second team game.

The club will be open as usual on Saturday afternoon and the England v New Zealand game will be on TV

On Sunday the U15s are playing at Rugby St Andrews and the U16s and junior sides are all training

International Tickets – The Autumn tickets are all gone but we have our usual allocation of tickets for the Six Nations games at Twickenham and an application form is attached.

Phil McGaffin is progressing through the membership list to try and update the payers and non-payers. A form with payment details is attached and we would be grateful if you would complete this and let us have what you owe. If you want to cancel your membership, please send an email to me (see below) or to Phil (on the form) . If you already pay by Standing Order, you don’t need to do anything unless you haven’t updated it in line with changes in the subscription rates. Please check the amount you are paying and increase it if appropriate and make an additional payment to cover the difference

VP Lunch. The next VP lunch will be on Saturday 9th November, prior to the Camp Hill game.
12.00 for 12.30 sit down. If you want to come, please email Derren_Nisbet@Hotmail.com or on WhatsApp at 07717795969.
