Our run of close defeats was extended to 5 on Saturday when we lost late-on to neigbours’ Old Leamingtonians. The visitors looked anything but relegation candidates as they tore into us from the start and had the better of the first half, leading 10-7 at the break. We got on top as the game wore on and tries by Garrett Bell and Richard Mullis , converted by Alex Johnson put us 9 points in front with 10 minutes to go. Unfortunately, we couldn’t hold our lead as OLs fought back to score 2 late tries to nick the game at the end, by 1 point. See John Warner’s full report on the website
Gareth Shuttleworth and John Brear were particularly disappointed with the result, as it was Gareth’s 250th game for the first team since returning to the club in 2012, since when he has rarely missed a game, and John Brear played his 100th game and scored our first try of the afternoon. Well done both.
