Some details have been given of the new RFU Community Cup which will replace the Papa John trophy which has ended after its three-year sponsorship deal. There will be some similarities with the Papa John and the old Intermediate Cup, in that we will be playing teams at the same level but on a nationwide basis. All clubs will be automatically entered for a 64-club knock out competition, with the option of opting out. The first three rounds of competition (64, 32 and 16) will be held during the season with the first match in September. The quarter-finals onwards will be played after the end of the season, with the finals at a prestigious neutral venue in May.

Pre-season training is going well with good numbers - Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.00. Details are on social media and new players are very welcome. The club is open as usual on Saturday but from the slightly later time of 4.00.

Hayley White, our Club Safeguarding Officer, is organising a Play it Safe course, on behalf of the RFU Wednesday 20th August, starting at 18.15 for 18.30. There is an upfront cost of £15 which can be reimbursed on completion. This is open to all clubs through an online booking link but it is available to Leamington on a first come first served basis.
