
As mentioned last week, the Club is now in summer mode and the usual activities will include the following and will be subject to confirmation each week in addition to the special Centenary Events

Wednesdays- Walking Rugby, Royals and Ladies
Thursdays – Tag rugby
Fridays – Bar open at 5.00 for early drinks
Saturdays – Royals games with bar open and bar from 4.00 when no games

This Saturday we will be hosting the Warwickshire Walking Rugby Festival on behalf of Warwickshire RFU. This version of the game has been going for about four years now and we were one of the original entrants and have won the competition twice. We are in it again this year, along with clubs from all over Warwickshire and are hosting it as part of our centenary celebrations. Kick off at 12.00.
Also on Saturday, we are entertaining San Isidro, a touring team from Madrid, in a veterans’ game, kicking off at 15.00. San Isidro RFC are from Madrid and they are known as the Old Lizards. The tour has been arranged with Andy John who has known the club since 1994 when one of their players played with him at Alcester. All are welcome for the game and the social that will follow
The next main confirmed Centenary Event is the Golf Tournament on Wednesday 24 June ,organised by Pete Forrest at Leamington Whitnash – we are looking for around 50 past and present players and numbers are looking good. Entry fee is £65 including bacon bap on arrival and dinner afterwards. Contact email peteaforrest@hotmail.com. Pete has written to all the confirmed entrants this week. The is no news as yet on Tony Grimes’ funeral arrangements. Sadly, Shelagh Gardner, wife of Andy, passed away over the weekend. May she rest in peace
