The Club AGM was held on Wednesday last and the draft minutes of the meeting are attached for information. Some points to note are that - our financial report is very positive and plans are progressing for the new season. Ross Dewey was chosen as Clubman of the Year and Charlie Gardner and John Warner were elected as Honorary Life Members. There is some turnover on the Committee – I have stood down as Honorary Secretary and Richard Watkins has taken over from me. Mark Baldwin is now Chair of Youth (including Mini, Junior and Colts rugby) and Bill Dalton will be looking after membership.
Sadly, we have been informed of the death of another former player – Dave Scofield, who played on the wing or at full-back during the 1960s and I estimate he played about 125 games for the first XV before leaving the area. I don’t have any further details, but I can provide an address if anyone wishes to get in touch.
This week - the club will be open as usual – Friday from 5.00 for early evening drinks and Saturday from 4.00. There are no games on as far as I am aware.
Tickets for England’s game at Twickenham against New Zealand on 21 November are now gone but we still have a few left for the Australia game on 8 November. These are still available on a first come first served basis.
