The pre-season gets underway tomorrow (Thursday) with a trial match against Old Coventrians over in Coventry. The kick-off is around 7.15. Let’s get over there and cheer on the team and you can do your Sainsbury’s or Costco shopping afterwards.

We are pleased to confirm that Wasps’ new scrum half, Ben Vellacott (pictured ) has agreed to assist our coaching team for the upcoming season to help develop team and individual skills. Ben has moved to Wasps after two outstanding years at Gloucester and will be challenging Dan Robson for the no 9 shirt. Ben previously spent time at Hartpury College and was a member of the Scotland Under 20 squad at the 2015 Jjunior World Cup and has since been called up for training with the full England squad.

We had a good turnout for the Wales v England game on Saturday – pity about the result. This week, England are playing Ireland at Twickenham, kicking off at 15.00. The club will be open from 14.00 so come along and watch the game on our new large TV screen. We have taken out a short-term subscription with Now TV who are showing the match. It’s that time of the year again when club membership subscriptions become due. Subs continue to be one of the main sources of club income along with bar profits, sponsorship and events. It is vital that everyone pays their dues and there are several ways in which you can do so. A payment form (Annual Subscriptions 2019-20) is attached to the email version of this message which gives details of membership rates (which are also below) and how you can pay. If you have any queries please contact Charlie Gardner who will be pleased to advise you. Also attached is a bank mandate form, should you wish to pay by standing order and a CASC (Gift Aid Declaration) form which you should complete if you make a donation over and above your subscription rate and wish to claim tax back on the amount.

For Youth Members (mini and junior different arrangements will apply and you will be notified of these through the pre-seaon registration process

Senior Rugby Playing Members £240 (£195 if paid by 30 September) or £20 per month by Standing order - this is inclusive of match fees, post-match food, gym use and physiotherapy
Student and Colts £50 (student refers to players in full time education)
Vice Presidents £70 (donations above this requested, but optional)
Social Members £50
Gym Member £100 for use of the gym (£50 additional for VPs and £70 for Social Members
