AGM Return to Rugby John Lyne

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 July 2021 at 8.00 p.m. As in recent years, this will also be the AGM for the Youth Section. Please note that due to the continuing Government restrictions on public gatherings, special arrangements are again proposed this year.

Club Rules require that we hold an AGM by 31 July which all members are entitled to attend. The Government’s regulations still restrict us in holding such a gathering, although these may well be lifted before the meeting takes place. Club Rules do not allow us to postpone the meeting and we have no provision for proxy voting. The FCA and the RFU appreciate this dilemma and advise that clubs should compromise in order to run themselves in the interests of their members.

The Committee has therefore decided that we should hold a hybrid meeting, giving the option for members to either to attend in person if the restrictions allow it, or to register their attendance and vote by post if they prefer. We adopted similar arrangements last year which worked well.

The Agenda and supporting papers will be sent out by email (with postal or carrier pigeon delivery to those who do not have it). It will include a postal voting form setting out the resolutions to be voted on, to be returned by the date of the meeting. Results will be confirmed by email and in the minutes of the meeting.

We are, this week, signing a 4-year kit deal with O’Neil’s, our current supplier. We are pleased with their product and they have given us a financial incentive which will be shared between the Senior Club and the Youth Section. The deal will help us standardise our kit and the deal can be extended to Netball if they wish.

The U15’s started and finished their season on Sunday morning with a 53-5 win away at Old Coventrians. Scores came regularly throughout the three sessions - from Osborne, Main, Keeshan, Melville, Facchino, Fairfield, Malia, Tomlinson & Forty, with just one late score against. This gave the lads a 100% record for the season – played 1 won 1.

There are no home games this week and the next one will be Leamington Royals against Telford Raiders on 19 June. You will however be able to watch the Heartbreak Productions version of Mr Stink which is being performed at Moorefields on Friday at 7.00 pm and Saturday at 2.00 pm and 6.30 pm - but you will have to pay. If you would prefer drinks as normal, we will be serving on the rear terrace and or in the marquee
