Firsts beat Manor Park Upcoming fixtures VP Lunch on 20th Centenary Celebrations

Kenilworth 2nd and Evesham Colts both cancelled on us at the weekend and this left us with a 1st team fixture at home to Manor Park from Nuneaton, played on a wet pitch in constant drizzle. There were several changes in the side but we settled in well and took the lead with a try from Ed Gray. We led from this point onwards although we couldn’t shake them of until the end, as they kept on coming back us, and got into range with a try in injury time. But with the final move of the game, John Brear wrestled the ball clear and raced in between the post to secure a 35-22 win. See John Warner’s report of the game on the website. We are now up to 4th in the table and the remaining games before Christmas are follows

1st 2nd Colts Ladies
Nov29 Evesham A C1 Barkers Butts H Stratford A Market Bosworth A
Dec6 Alcester H C1 Berkswell & B H Earsldon H Oadby Wyggs Sun) A
Dec13 Kidderminster A C1
Dec20 Camp Hill H C1 O. Coventrians A Keresley H

This week we are at Evesham. They have been very strong in the past two seasons and they have beaten us 3 times out of 4 but they have been showing mixed form so it should be another close game, river level permitting. The Colts are at Stratford on Friday night and on Saturday the Seconds are entertaining Barkers Butts and the Ladies have moved from Sunday to Saturday for the first time this season and they are away at Market Bosworth

The U-13 lost narrowly by 25-30 against Claverdon on Sunday. This week, they are playing Berkswell & Balsall and the U-16 are playing Stratford. The mini age groups are all playing Harbury

The pre-Christmas VP lunch will be held prior to the Camp Hill game on 20 December – 12 for 12.30. This will be a Christmas lunch and will be £25. We are expecting a big demand so if you want to come, please get in touch with Charlie Gardner on c.n.gardner44@gmail.com>.

The 200 club draw will be made at the dinner, so contact Phil Mc Gaffin if you want to join up
