After a strong and impressive performance last week against Stratford the bubble has burst against a strong and physical Kenilworth U12's.

Leamington U12's were again decimated with player availability for the game, once again we had to 'borrow' players from Kenilworth to bolster the team.

Leamington had the kick off and from the first whistle it looked to be a difficult game for Spa, Kenilworth received the kick off and started to make inroads into the Leamington line with excellent ball retention helped by strong and effective ruck and maul play with some sublime offloads, it wasn't long before Kenilworth had the first score. The trend continued with the next 3 scores from Kenilworth, Spa's overall defence was lacking, tackles being missed and lack of numbers at the breakdown gave easy possession to Kenilworth. A break in play due to injury allowed Leamington coach to have some words with the team to try and motivate them to put the tackles in and add more numbers at the breakdown.

Spa listened to the advice given, especially George 'Hammer' Timms and Thomas 'Minime' Griffiths, both players putting in the hard tackles required to prevent Kenilworth from further scores in the first half, this spurned the rest of the team to get the final score of the half. 5-20 at half time.

Leamington started the second half with gusto and put some heavy pressure on the Kenilworth line but was unable to convert that pressure to points. The relentless assault ended with a knock on by Spa which seemed to knock the wind out their sails.

Kenilworth saw the morale take a dip with several Leamington heads bowed, they knew they had Spa on the back foot, this lead to Kenilworth putting another 2 scores on the board before a rally by Spa to get what turned out to be a consolation score, as Kenilworth hit back with the final 2 scores of the half, ending the game 10-40.

Man of the Match went to George Timms for his outstanding tackling performance in both halves closely followed by Thomas Griffiths.

Leamington U12's now have a break for half term with the first training session on return being taken by the first team coach Tom Greevy.
