Leamington again will feel hard done by after a sterling effort across 80 minutes was undone by a few unfortunate lapses in concentration.
Despite the scoreline Leam matched and bettered Ledbury for good periods of the game.
After conceding two physical scores in the first 15 minutes Leam jumped into life with the forwards battling in the middle of the park and the backs stretching their legs this forced Ledbury into a concerted defensive effort. A combination excellent scrambling resistance from the opposition and some profligacy from the boys in blue meant they were unable to make a mark on the scoreboard.
HT 0-12
The second half was a similar tale with Leamington’s attacking endeavours not quite getting to the line and Ledbury using a combination of direct running and slick handling to hurt Leamington in the transitions.
FT 0-40
Despite a challenging start to the season there is enough evidence from the last couple of games particularly that Leam are a better side than their points difference suggests, another week of fine tuning will hopefully see the boys claim their first points of the season next Saturday away at Berkswell and Balsall.
Special mention to star man Sam Richards who was a rock in defence and provided brutal carries and deft handling in attack.
